If you missed the post at the beginning of the year about Village Beat and their trip to Kenya, there are just a few things you should know….
~ Village Beat is using art to amplify the voices of indigenous tribes in East Africa
~ RIGHT NOW Southern Ethiopia is in the process of building a hydroelectric dam that will stop the flow of water from Ethiopia’s omo river into lake turkana (Africa’s largest freshwater lake and subsistence for about 1 million people, most being Kenyan!)
~ Village Beat will be with the people of Kenya for a few months using a journalistic approach to get the word out about the GIBE 3 dam after the Kenyan government announced they were in support of the dam. They put a media blackout on the dam and it’s impact causing widespread violence.
