Mai Tai Included: Kayla’s Travel Secrets
Every now and then you may find yourself fortunate and have some $ to spend and need a quick fix getaway. This post may come as no brainer to some of you web savvy folks, but for those of you not savvy in the ways of booking a fancy all-inclusive or last minute getaway allow me to enlighten you….
WARNING: These are not adventure/cultural journeys (though sometimes you get lucky). These are quick fix, put me in a chic hotel with mai tai in my hand and sunburn on the ride home types of vacations. Cause let’s face it sometimes you just want to go sit on a beach and do nothing. Sometimes it’s ok to go someplace easy and just say; “screw it- I did not go to Istanbul for Presidents Day Weekend, but I will go home relaxed from my 2 hour massage with Chad”.
I have found amazing deals for this type of vacay on the following sites:
Ruelala- Great for high end travel, chic boutique hotels, and the occasional deal on a new or lovely beach destination
Ideeli- Serving up hot deals on great All Inclusive Resorts and touristy hot spots
Living Social- Gotta be careful with this one but every now and then there is a gem of a deal
Expedia- Great for last minute eascapes
TIPS:
ALWAYS Read the fine print.
Membership is free for the sign up ones (just make sure to set it up with your extra email account for the spam).
Check out Weather Underground before you buy and make sure it’s going to be nice weather when you travel! No point in going during monsoon season just cause it’s 50% off. Always check out the weather history for the month you are traveling.
Just because the photos are beautiful and it’s a total steal does not mean it’s a good hotel or all inclusive. Check out the most recent reviews on Trip Advisor before clicking buy on a dump.
If you’re traveling from a cold dark place wear spf 30 or higher so you can enjoy your time instead of writhing in your burn. Also, whatever you do… don’t sleep with Chad.
