This New York Times Article touched on the recent history and risks of females traveling. It had me re-living all my enjoyable adventures with me, myself, and I. There is a beauty in the discomfort of solo travel that’s left me with many lessons and many more stories.
The morning I left for San Francisco was far from typical. I barely slept that night because once again I was about to experience a first with Camp Zeno! The thought of an RV road trip was beyond any dream of ‘things to experience’ at camp. It would be a journey that would be hard to top, and once again being with my Zeno family would definitely yield me an experience that would last me my lifetime.

I regularly visit my home town to enjoy it’s many splendors and remind myself of how relaxing life can be. Sipping home-made sweet tea as I sit on the dock with my feet dangling in the salty water, I wonder if it’s possible for an outsider to enjoy this way of life. As the afternoon thunderstorms roll in over the inter-coastal waterways I ponder if the humidity and mosquitoes are just a barrier to keep the tourists from deciding to move in.

I just returned from a few days in Vegas for a dear friends bachelorette party. I haven’t been to Vegas in a couple of years. To be honest, it’s not my cup of tea or I guess I should say bucket of pina colada. I’m happy to report I had a BLAST and of course had to share a few ideas for making the most of this landlocked cruise ship.
“Montee” as we like to call him, is the mysterious man of the neighborhood who comes baring gifts and goes before you’ve had time to say thank you. He’s like a hologram, appearing just when you need him. He appeared one cold night at burning man and placed a Spirit Hood on my head making me feel both cool and warm at the same time, he appeared bedside after I got in a bad car accident with the best post surgery healers, he appeared the day of the Bon Iver show with 1 last ticket.
I am a singer from Los Angeles and doing my best to take advantage of my lack of true life responsibilities in my 20’s. In the past 5 years, I have checked many things off my “bucket list” ranging from trips to Johannesburg and Paris, to Sky Diving and singing Chumbawumba at Karaoke. I began a tradition of adventure September 2 years ago where I do something new every day. Eat something new every meal. This september, I went the whole month without speaking… that was an adventure. But this Christmas, on a last minute whim, I was lucky enough to check a BIG one off. One that I can only assume is on most people’s list.
