All we’re trying to say around here is, do the things that make you happy. Don’t let that voice of reason come in with CANTS and SHOULDNTS. You have enough hours in your day (especially today) to make time for something that makes the sides of your mouth turn up. We have all these things we “HAVE” to do, tricking us into believing we don’t have time for happiness.

Consider me a newfound backyardigan. OK, maybe not so much. But, yes it is true I have been vacationing in my backyard for the past week.
Forced to focus on my health after having wisdom teeth surgery, I feared that perhaps I would in fact lose some of my wisdom I’ve obtained over the past years. Not because of the act of actually having the so-called insightful teeth removed, but from being forced into a state of leisure. Being “sick” has never been my forte. I enjoy a lazy day just as much as the next gal, but not to be repeated every day.
One random evening in 2008 I received a call from my best friend CC. This, in and of itself, was nothing special or noteworthy, having been best friends since the age of 9, but now living 1,200 miles apart, many evenings have been spent on the phone with each other and 2008 was a particularly chatty year for us, being it was that year I separated from my husband and CC was always there, ready to comfort, give me tough love, support my life decisions…all the things best friends are designed for.
We all know traveling with a group can be tough, but it can also be incredible! How many times have you witnessed something and wished other people were there with you? I wrote a little bit about our New Years Mexico trip while we were down there and promised a follow up. So, here goes…
I’ve been doing research on Biofuel use for my Seminar on Global Environmental Issues. Fascinating, controversial subject, and I suggest that everyone takes time to read about it and formulate an opinion. But not the topic for this post.
