My family’s house burned down when I was 9 and we lost all of our photos. Neither of my parents ever bought a camera again and photos just became sort of unimportant in my life. I always subscribed to the mentality that being behind a camera would pull me out of fully experiencing the event taking place and I wanted to be present and IN the moment. I wrote to remember moments, but that’s so much more time consuming than the simple click of a camera.
After your toes are sore from hours at the Musée d’Orsay and your belly aches from Laduree you may find yourself wandering the streets of Paris looking for more. Road trips allow you to take the wheel of travel time, witness beautiful landscapes with the wind blowing in your hair, save money; all while eating so many sunflower seeds your lips get raw. I’m not alone in feeling that Summer is above and beyond the best season. If I could roam the world chasing summer I would, and someday I WILL! If that notion never entered your mind then I recommend you see the film Endless Summer and reassess your life goals.
Summer brings a whole year worth of excitement into a few short months of hot as hell days, and lovely long weekends.
Upon arriving in Cabo San Lucas your jaw may hit the floor in horror at the beach lined with mega resorts and condo decked mountains. This was my first reaction and still I am in shock every time I arrive in this seaside tourista destination.
